Why a solid outline reads from far away

A silhouette works because your eye names a shape before it reads a word. Kneeling in Prayer, the Puzzle Piece, the Vulture and the Judge's Gavel have no inner lines at all, and each is plain from the far end of a parking lot. Others add a few fine cuts that only show up close: the rope under the Rock Climber, the whiskers and spiral tail of the Sitting Cat, the antler tines on the Beer? bear.

A handful pair the shape with a few words, like Got Mountain Bike? and Hello Panda, but the picture still comes first. Some are drawn the other way around: the Grease Monkey and the Too Loud Face are thick outlines, so your paint fills the body, and the Pit Bull Head is built from patches, with the open spaces standing in for the dark of the face.

Questions

Silhouette decals: what people ask

Which Ranger Pro silhouette can you name from the far end of a lot?

Any of the shapes with no inner lines: Kneeling in Prayer, the Puzzle Piece, the Vulture, the Judge's Gavel. One filled outline is all your eye needs at a distance. Designs with hairline parts, such as the Sitting Cat's tail or the Rock Climber's rope, show them only as you come closer.

Will you find words on a Ranger Pro silhouette decal?

On a few. Got Mountain Bike? and Got Kitesurfing? put a short line in tall lowercase under the rider, Hello Panda cuts hello out of a speech bubble, and Beer? sits under the antlered bear. On the rest the outline says everything, from the Drum Major to the Eiffel Tower.
