Where it fits

A side window, the quarter glass behind a door, a tumbler or a water bottle. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A climber hanging under the roof

Your climber hangs beneath an overhang near the top of a tall slab of rock, one arm locked on the lip, feet pressed into the wall, and a rope dropping in one thin line to the base. The cliff is a solid block with a ragged right edge. From a distance you see the rock and the body. The rope shows up close.

Behind the driver, the rear side window lets the slab run straight down along the frame. Weekend climbers, indoor or out, can also give it to the water bottle in their pack. The thin rope line wants slow, careful pressing.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
