How it goes on
Wash the spot with soapy water and dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol. If water beads on the glass, there is wax on it, and the decal will not hold.
Tape the decal across its middle where you want it, step back and look. Move the tape until the design sits level.
Lift one half, peel the backing, press it down from the hinge outward with a card, then do the other half. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the glass.
Your surface is the background
A Ranger Pro decal is cut from a single sheet of colored vinyl, and everything that is not the design is weeded away. What you press onto the glass is the dog, the letters or the oval and nothing else, so the paint, the tint or the aluminum of your lid fills every gap between the shapes.
That is why the same design looks bolder on a tinted rear window than on a white tailgate. The picture with this text is how one of our designs sits on a rear window: the glass does half the work.

Where it fits
Popular searches
Blackletter makes Praise the Lowered sound like a hymn, a marker hand makes Drink Local sound like a note on the fridge, and heavy block capitals make God Bless Our Troops plain from across a lot. Pick the line you want first, then look at how it is drawn.
A drum major under a plumed hat, a jackrabbit at full stretch, a grand piano with its lid up. Every one of these designs is drawn as an outline first, so you know what it is long before you are close enough to see the small cuts inside it.
Lay a banner along the lower edge of your back glass and it stays out of the part you look through. Save the Sticks, Ain't Skeered and the Gliding Crow are all drawn long for that strip, with words or wings running sideways instead of stacking up.
Square art sits in the middle of a lid with the same margin all around, which a long banner never does. The Pit Bull Head, the Peeking Monster tearing through its opening and the Carpenter Saw Blade all fit that space, and they work on a toolbox drawer too.

Since 2015
For 11 years Ranger Pro has cut one-color vinyl decals for people who like to say something with a rear window: duck hunters and bass fishermen, dog people, church groups, gym rats, drag racers and folks who just want the tailgate to make someone laugh at a red light.
Before you order
A white decal reads best on tinted or dark glass and on dark paint. On a light car or a silver laptop the shapes still show, but thin lines fade first, so pick a design with bold, solid parts.
How a decal goes onA long banner runs along the bottom of a rear window or a bumper. A tall design fits a side window, a tumbler or a door frame. A design close to square sits best on a laptop lid or a toolbox.
See every shapeOn a rear window, keep the decal out of the wiper path. In California, Texas and Florida the rear window may carry a decal only if your car has outside mirrors on both sides.
Where a decal can goThe windshield is the strictest glass in every state we read, and New York bars stickers on the rear window too. Read what your state says before a decal goes on glass you look through.
State rules we readLettering with thick strokes reads from a distance. Script and hairline letters look best up close, on a laptop or a cooler you carry.

Press the buy button on any Ranger Pro design. It opens that decal at our retail partner, where the current price is shown and where you check out. Payment, delivery and returns are handled there as well, not on this site.
Start with a clean, dry, smooth surface, place the decal where you want it before anything sticks, and press it down from the middle outward so the air has somewhere to go. Our application guide walks through each step, from lining it up to lifting the backing.
The vinyl is rated UV and water resistant for up to six years outdoors. That is an upper figure, not a promise: a decal on a toolbox in the garage has an easier life than one on a tailgate in full sun every afternoon.
Your car does. A Ranger Pro decal is die cut from one color of vinyl, with no background and no clear border, so your glass or paint fills every gap. That is why the same design looks different on dark glass than on a light painted panel.
Yes. The decals are made for hard, smooth surfaces: glass, painted metal, a laptop lid, a toolbox, a cooler, a tumbler. Fabric and rough, textured plastic are the exceptions. For a cup, the tall designs keep facing you as the side curves away.
Look at the banners. They are drawn long and low to run along the bottom of the glass, below the part you look through. Save the Sticks, Ain't Skeered and Halo and Wings are three of them. Rules differ by state, so read yours before you place one.
