Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A ponytail, a chair and three words

At the left a wheelchair figure sits with a ponytail flicking out behind the head, the wheel drawn as one open curve. To the right, "that's how I roll" runs in rounded, casual handwriting, the first two words on top and "I roll" set larger below. The figure and the bold lowercase letters are thick strokes, so the line reads from a few car lengths back.

Just above the third brake light on a hatchback, the two lines sit where the car behind reads them. You roll every day and like to say it with a grin, or you drive someone who does? Then it is yours.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
