Where it fits

A side window, the quarter glass behind a door, a tumbler or a water bottle. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A helmet resting on a rifle

A combat helmet rests on the stock of a rifle that stands upright, muzzle down, with identification tags hanging on a thin chain beside the grip. The helmet and rifle are solid silhouettes, while the chain and the notches along the barrel are narrow cuts that show only up close. From far off, the upright outline reads clearly.

Veterans, service families, and anyone keeping the memory of someone who served: the rear side window gives the upright rifle and helmet room to stand, placed where you see it each time you get in. It is a quiet marker, not a slogan.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
