Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A halo above spread wings

A thin oval halo floats above a pair of spread wings that meet at the center. Each wing is cut as a fan of long, curved feathers in separate solid strokes, with narrow gaps between them where your glass shows through. The wide spread reads from far behind the car, and the shape of each feather comes clear close up.

Along the top strip of your back glass the wings can spread nearly side to side, with the halo floating just below the roofline. You may want it as a quiet memorial for someone you have lost, and it reads that way without a name beside it.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
