Where it fits

A side window, the quarter glass behind a door, a tumbler or a water bottle. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Capped skull with a bear bandana

Under a paneled baseball cap pulled low, a skull stares out through cut-out brows and sockets, and a bandana covers the lower face down to a point. On the bandana sit a cut-out star and a walking bear. A thin outline traces the whole head. The cap and bandana read from far off, the bear and star up close.

A tumbler that rides to the job site every day is a good home for this capped skull. Wrap it on the side opposite the handle so it faces out when you drink. Riders, hunters and anyone with a soft spot for a bear on a bandana will get it.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
