Where it fits

A side window, the quarter glass behind a door, a tumbler or a water bottle. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

The Eiffel Tower in sketch lines

Drawn like a quick pen sketch, the tower rises from a wide arched base through two railed platforms to a narrow spire with small rays of light at the tip. Lines vary in weight, from thick outer legs to short dashes and crossed strokes inside the frame. Read from a distance, the outline is clear, and the hand-drawn marks show up close.

Travel journals have tall covers, and the tower fits one with its spire pointing up toward the title. If you have been to Paris, are saving for the trip or teach French, it marks the book as yours. A tumbler takes it nicely as well.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
