Where it fits
Where it fits
A rear window corner, a toolbox lid, a cooler side or a laptop lid. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.
How it goes on
How it goes on
- Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
- Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
- Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
- Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.
About this design
A gavel on the diagonal

A judge's gavel lies on a long diagonal, the handle tapering to a rounded knob at the lower end and swelling into a turned collar where it meets the head. The head is a solid barrel with stepped notches along both ends. It is all one filled silhouette with no inner cuts. Seen from a distance, the hammer shape is plain right away.
Law students, clerks and anyone who chairs a meeting with a firm hand: try it on a laptop lid, slanted corner to corner, so the head of the gavel sits near the hinge. It makes your machine easy to pick out on a crowded counsel table.

Before it goes on glass
Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
