Where it fits

A laptop lid, a toolbox, a rear window corner or a gear case. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Board on edge, kite pulling hard

A rider leans hard against the pull, board tilted up on edge, while thin lines run up to a curved kite in the upper right. The kite is a thick crescent and the rider and board are solid. Under it all sits "got kitesurfing?" in tall, narrow lowercase. The lines are hairline cuts, best seen up close.

Board bags take a beating from sand and salt, and a flat panel near the handle is a fine spot for this rider and kite. Anyone who chases wind will recognize the pull in the pose. Friends who wait on the beach can claim it too.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
