Where it fits

A side window, the quarter glass behind a door, a tumbler or a water bottle. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A shy panda saying hello

Above a small seated panda floats a round speech bubble, and "hello" is cut out of it in chunky rounded capitals. The panda is drawn mostly in outline, with solid ears, solid eye patches, a small nose and solid paws, and the head turned a little to one side. The bubble and the eye patches are the biggest shapes, so those read first at a distance.

Kids who ride in the back seat will see it first if you put the panda on their own side window, bubble at the top. A child's water bottle is the other good spot. It makes a friendly greeting for little ones and for any grown-up who still collects cute stickers.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
