Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Three lines of chunky retro capitals

Fat, soft-serifed capitals in a seventies style set "Lefties are in their right mind" over three lines, aligned to the right edge, so the block steps in from the left. The letters are heavy and rounded, with ball ends and tight counters. Everything is a broad shape, and the whole saying stays readable from a good distance behind you.

Lower right corner of your back glass, with the ragged left edge of the text facing the middle. Write with your left hand and have heard every joke about it? Then this is the reply you never had time to give.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
