Where it fits
Where it fits
Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.
How it goes on
How it goes on
- Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
- Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
- Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
- Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.
About this design
A coil spring and one word

Block capitals spell "Static" beside a coil spring laid on its side, drawn as a chain of outlined loops between two end caps with a pair of bars after it. The letters are heavy and solid, with the T and I set tight together. Up close you see the thin outline of each coil. From a distance the word carries the message on its own.
Run it across the foot of the hatch glass on a car that sits on fixed coilovers and stays there, no air, no bags. If you have ever scraped a front lip on a driveway ramp, you will read it right away.

Before it goes on glass
Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
