Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Faith and ink in two lines

Sturdy serif letters set "Jesus loves me and my tattoos" in two lines of mostly lowercase, the J dipping below the line and the y finishing in a long curled tail. The strokes are thick with small flared ends, more storybook than church sign. The words read well from behind another car, and the flared serifs show up close.

Full sleeves and a regular pew are no contradiction to you, and this line says so in two easy rows. Run it low across the back glass of the car that takes you to Sunday service, close enough to the trim that the driver behind reads it at a light.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
